Dear Customers and Friends,
This past week, we held our fourth annual Syfan Supports 5K. For this year’s 5K, our beneficiary was a wonderful organization called My Sister’s Place. They help restore hope to single women and mothers experiencing homelessness.
The turnout this year was incredible to see. Members from all over our community came together to lend a hand and support such a remarkable organization.
It’s times like these when I am reminded of just how important community is.
In a world that often encourages independence and self-reliance, scripture reminds us that we were never meant to walk through life alone. God created us to live in relationship with one another, supporting each other through both challenges and victories. Whether it’s helping a neighbor, encouraging a friend, or coming together for a cause bigger than ourselves, community reflects the heart of God. Hebrews 10:24-25 says:
“AND LET US CONSIDER HOW WE MAY SPUR ONE ANOTHER ON TOWARD LOVE AND GOOD DEEDS, NOT GIVING UP MEETING TOGETHER…BUT ENCOURAGING ONE ANOTHER.”
What stood out to me at this year’s 5K was seeing that verse lived out in real time. Hundreds of people gathered, not for personal gain, but to encourage, support, and serve others. People who came to run, walk, or even cheer all reflected the value of community.
Community doesn’t just make difficult seasons easier; it allows us to be a part of God’s work in the lives of others. Sometimes the greatest encouragement we can offer is simply showing up. This past week, our community did exactly that.
As we move forward, let’s continue to look for opportunities to serve, encourage, and uplift those around us. You never know how God might use a simple act of kindness or a willing heart to make a lasting impact in someone’s life.
