Dear Customers and Friends,

My dad, Jim, is a lot better about staying on top of his health, especially since his double lung transplant years ago. However, he wasn’t always that way. A scratchy throat or a cough – sure signs of something worse to come – were often ignored.

Me? I’m just the opposite, possibly bordering on hypochondria.

If I have the slightest sniffle, I’m all over it, immediately taking cold medicine or calling the doctor for a prescription. In this current flu season, I’m especially careful to watch out for warning signs that I might be catching a bug.

Isn’t that the same way with our spiritual life? Like the flu, we often ignore the little slip-ups that erode our faith: resentment, disrespect, or neglected prayer and worship time. Over time, these oversights pile up and weaken our spiritual immune system before we know what hit us.

Scripture reminds us to “be on your guard”
to protect your faith daily.

The good news is that neither the flu nor sin have the final word. The Great Physician is always there for house calls. “By his wounds, we are healed,” according to Isaiah 53:5. When we tend to our souls daily – whether reading the Bible or doing good works – we build spiritual immunity and better lives.

So, if your soul should feel run-down today, don’t ignore the symptoms. Pray. Ask for forgiveness. Tell someone how much you care. Lend a helping hand to one in need.

For this new beginning in 2026, focusing on your spiritual health – in addition to your physical health – would indeed make a great New Year’s Resolution. Happy New Year!

Blessed to be a Blessing,
