Steve Syfan, co-founder and Executive Vice President of Syfan Logistics, has been named to the Board of Directors for the Georgia Department of Economic Development.
Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp announced the appointment in August 2019, citing Syfan’s longtime industry experience and insight. Syfan has more than 35 years of expertise in the logistics and transportation industry, a key driver of the state’s economy. His company employs more than 200 professionals and operates throughout the continental United States, Canada and Mexico.
Steve and his wife, Kim, reside in Gainesville. They have two children and two grandchildren.
The Department of Economic Development is the state’s lead agency for attracting new business investment, encouraging the expansion of existing industry and small businesses. It aligns workforce education and training with in-demand jobs and locating new markets for Georgia products.
The agency also promotes the state as a destination for arts and location for film, music, and digital entertainment projects.
