Be Thankful in Business and in Health

Dear Customers and Friends:

Did you know that being grateful is good for business, not to mention your health?

We are blessed by God to live in the greatest country on Earth. Yet so few of us acknowledge our good fortune.

According to one survey, only 52% of women and 44% of men express gratitude on a regular basis. At work, the numbers are even lower – only 10% thank their colleagues and even fewer thank their boss or employer (no surprise here!).

Want to really make an impact in your business? Try thanking everyone around your desk or office, then spread the love to your customers, vendors, and community. I’ve heard the story of one boss at a Fortune 500 company who hand-wrote up to 100 thank you notes a week to his employees. His thankful spirit spread throughout the company and became part of the company’s culture – and success.

Gratitude strengthens employee and customer loyalty, which naturally leads to a better business.

Personally, it’s also healthy to be thankful. I’ve read that gratitude releases endorphins into your bloodstream and has a calming effect by suppressing adrenalin, giving you a natural high.

Want to really take your gratefulness to the next level? Be thankful for adversity, too. Because we learn much more from mistakes than from success.

In this season of thanksgiving, I challenge you to adopt a thankful spirit and to express your gratefulness every day of the year. And let me set the example by expressing my heartfelt thanks for your support in reading this monthly Faith over Fear message. You are truly a blessing to me.

Blessed to be a Blessing,
