"Syfan Says" Summer/Fall 2019

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM DRAWS STUDENTS FROM AREA COLLEGES Continuing with its internship program, Syfan Logistics recently welcomed 12 summer interns. The students are from University of North Georgia, University of Georgia, Young Harris College, Georgia Southern College and the University of Tennessee. As part of Syfan Logistics employee recruitment program, the interns learned about all aspects of the trucking and transportation logistics industry. “We want to give them experience and knowledge about the industry,” said Levi Nix, who oversees Syfan’s employee training. “It is a huge benefit to us because they are potential future employees.” Our 2019 intern class speaks with Syfan president Greg Syfan (standing). The team enjoyed activities in the Asheville area. COMPANY TRIPS CELEBRATE A GREAT YEAR AT OUR COMPANY To celebrate an outstanding year that included recognition as one of Inc. magazine’s top 300 places to work, Syfan Transport & Syfan Logistics team members traveled to Asheville, N.C. It was a great time to team build and spend time with each other away from the office. On the Asheville trip, they enjoyed time together playing golf and touring the Biltmore Estates. “It was a tradition from our Turbo days,” said Greg Syfan, company president, referring to the company’s former name. “We have a lot of people on the team now who were with us then. We would do a trip when we had a good year. We all have a lot of fun and fellowship.”
