STEVE SYFAN NAMED TO STATE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BOARD Syfan Logistics co-founder and Executive Vice President Steve Syfan has been named to the Board of Directors for the Georgia Department of Economic Development. Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp announced the appointment, citing Syfan’s longtime industry experience and insight. Syfan has more than 35 years of expertise in the logistics and transportation industry, a key driver of the state’s economy. His company employs more than 200 professionals and operates throughout the continental United States, Canada and Mexico. Steve and his wife, Kim, reside in Gainesville. They have two children and two grandchildren. The Department of Economic Development is the state’s lead agency for attracting new business investment, encouraging the expansion of existing industry and small businesses. It aligns workforce education and training with in-demand jobs and locating new markets for Georgia products. The agency also promotes the state as a destination for arts and location for film, music, and digital entertainment projects. AJC NAMES SYFAN LOGISTICS A TOP WORKPLACE FOR 2020 Syfan Logistics has been named to the 2020 Atlanta Journal-Constitution Top Workplaces list. Syfan Logistics ranked 17th out of 62 mid-size companies. There were more than 4,800 companies nominated and only 150 earned a spot on the list. In selecting Syfan Logistics, the AJC cited “the company creating a culture where employees feel engaged, appreciated and fulfilled.” “We are very excited to be named a top workplace,” said Jim Syfan, Syfan Logistics CEO. “We’ve worked hard to create an environment where team members can learn and grow, which is beneficial to them and to the company. We have a dedicated team that gets results for our customers.” It is the second time in two years that Syfan Logistics was named a top workplace. Last year, it was named to Inc. Magazine’s Top 300 Best Workplaces in the United States. Some of our team members went to the Top Workplaces reception at the Georgia Aquarium. See AJC, Page 3
